The Crew

My passion for rod building is the culmination of a lifelong journey, forged over 30 years of fishing. From chasing bass and stipers in freshwater to battling inshore reds and trout, to  land-based sharks in the surf, and even the delicate art of fly fishing for trout, every experience has shaped me. It all started with our small crew, "The Padre Pirates," a band of anglers made up of my father, my grandfather, my brother, and me. We fished the length of Padre Island, sharing a bond that went beyond just the catch.

With the passing of my grandfather, I wanted to keep the Padre Pirates tradition alive, Pirates Unlimited was born from this desire—a company that crafts more than just a tool for fishing. Each rod is a stunning piece of artwork, built with a passion born from a lifetime on the water and a profound respect for the anglers who want an edge. Every rod is a tribute to that early love of fishing and to the two men who helped create "The Padre Pirates”. Our rods are built for the fight!
